Meet Dr. Keeton

As a dentist, I love getting to know each patient. Their likes, passions, hobbies, families, dreams, and concerns: all that is important to my patient becomes important to me.

I believe having a personal connection with each person allows for a greater trust and a better outcome to all dental procedures, as I fully understand what patients want and need. One of the most rewarding aspects of dentistry, I feel, is the daily challenge of finding a solution to each individual’s situation. Our conversations play a large role in identifying the ideal approach that works for a person’s clinical and personal needs, for the best experience and results.

I love seeing a patient’s smile as the individual reaches their optimal oral health, and knowing that, by working together, we’ll maintain that smile for years to come!

Education and Experience

As a boy, I grew up listening to my uncle talk about his career as a pediatric dentist and the enjoyment he found in caring for others. This inspiration, combined with my passion for art and science, drew me to the field: I knew I wanted to go into healthcare, and being able to join helping others with artistry seemed like the perfect option!

I received both my Bachelor of Science and my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan. Following dental school, I completed a one-year advanced education in general dentistry residency while stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington as a Captain in the Army.

After five years of serving on active duty as a general dentist in the US Army, I moved with my family to Brighton, where I currently live and practice dentistry.

Constant Learning and Professional Affiliations

Along with my love of learning who my patients are, and sharing in their lives, I also have a strong desire to further my professional knowledge. Through continuing education, including with a local study group coordinated by an oral surgeon, I stay informed of the latest changes developments in dentistry.

I tend to seek out opportunities that allow me to learn about new and improved techniques, as well as innovative technologies that benefit my patients.

I am a member of the

  • American Dental Association
  • Michigan Dental Association
  • Livingston District Dental Society
  • Academy of General Dentistry

These organizations offer numerous avenues for me to learn from leading practitioners and researchers. I take advantage of as many opportunities as I can!

Beyond Dentistry

I grew up in Spring Lake, and now consider Brighton to be home. Amanda, my wife, graduated from the University of Michigan with her degree in dental hygiene. She is currently the Keeton Family Dentistry office manager while staying at home and caring for our three children. Our daughter, Elloise, loves to dance! Nate, our son, loves all things legos and animals! Our youngest, Charlotte, is growing too fast trying to keep up with her siblings.

Family is my priority: if I’m not in the office, I’m most often with them. We enjoy playing outside, working on our house, and love having movie nights with popcorn!

I am an avid sports fan, too: specifically, University of Michigan. I can talk all things sports and love to do so. We have season tickets to Michigan football and can’t wait to be able to get back in the Big House! If I ever have a few kid-free moments, I love to golf, but with two little ones, and a third soon arriving, those moments are difficult to find. I’m not complaining, I promise!
